Miami, FL - (April 21, 2011) - Modern Veterinary Therapeutics, LLC announces today the simultaneous launch of Schebo – Elastase
1 Canine Feces Test in North America and in France. The new Schebo – Elastase 1 Canine Feces Test is specific to the canine species
and is indicated for the diagnosis of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI). It is a non-radioactive, highly sensitive and specific
assay for the determination of canine pancreatic elastase (E1) in the feces, which reflects the exocrine capacity of the pancreas. “Unlike
other enzyme markers used in currently available diagnostic tests for diagnosis of pancreatitis or EPI, elastase 1 is the only fecal
marker that is specific of the pancreas, thus making it the most predictive test for EPI. The many other advantages of this innovative
diagnostic test include: no need for a starvation period, no need to interrupt a substitution therapy and the high stability of E1
allowing convenient mailing of the sample. The high sensitivity and specificity of Fecal Elastase 1 already establish this test as
the gold standard in human medicine for EPI and the method of choice ordered physicians worldwide. Modern Veterinary Therapeutics
LLC is pleased to begin offering this new diagnostic service through our central reference laboratories. Veterinarians will receive
results within 48 hours as opposed to 5 - 7 days as it is the currently the case with the TLI test”, said Dr Cuong Tu Ba, President
and Founder of Modern Veterinary Therapeutics.
